tracy_loo_who | RIGHT?

At first I was going to be all indignant and upset that it wasn't Castiel telling Dean all those things about who/what he is and that he'll be successful in stopping the apocalypse, wasn't Castiel looking at him with perfect, knowing confidence, wasn't Castiel who knew that this is exactly what Dean needed after that crushing revelation. Because it IS what he needed, a three week vacation from his life and the weight of the world on his shoulders, literally. Of course part of me still wishes it had been Castiel to give him that (and everything else he needs), but right around the time Zacharia told him to "stop whining about it", I knew why it wasn't Castiel: Zachariah doesn't trust Castiel to not go too soft when Dean needs a bit of a firm telling-off. Either that, or he knows it would hurt Dean's feelings and make him withdraw from Castiel like he withdrew from Sam when Sam said something similar. So.. in a way, it only reaffirms all the Dean/Castiel from last week, right? I haven't read anyone else's reviews yet, but tell me I'm not the only one who reads Dean/Castiel subtext into episodes with no Castiel. XD

Despite the lack of Castiel, though, I gotta say, I loved this episode. SO many hilariously awesome moments, but underneath it all there's that thing they do where they go all brother on each other and. omg, I've been so caught up in Castiel this season that I almost forgot the reason I watched this show for three years. Sam and Dean were so Sam'n'Dean, and I love love love that this episode was about rediscovering who they are because that's who they are, they're brothers and they work together and they tease each other and they love each other. It gives me hope for them when there's been so little of it all season. ♥

- "So you're telling me that your dreams are special visions and you're some kind of psychic?" "No! I mean, that would be nuts!" LOLSAMMY. ♥
- Dean being all "nice!" at Sam's questionable morals. XD
- THEY ARE SUCH HELPLESS JUNKIES FOR THE HUNT. RIGHT?
- No beer, omg. :(
- Even now, Sam just keeps wanting to talk about his feelings. It really is part of who he is. XD
- Dean researches, omg.
- "Did you just call me Sammy?" "Did I?" "I think you did. Yeah. Don't." HIS FACE HERE. OMG. LOLSAMMY. ♥♥♥
- The whole Ghostfacers thing. "These guys are genius!" (Dean is never going to live this down.) Ghost adjacent. DOUCHENOZZLES. lololol Kripke.

- Just watching the boys work together makes me so happy. ♥
- RIGHT? RIGHT? Omg, Dean.
- Quit our jobs and hit the road. Stolen credit cards, eating diner food drenched in saturated fats, sharing a crap motel room every night.. You don't wanna go fighting ghosts without any health insurance!
- We were these like, hunters. And we were friends... more like brothers. ♥♥♥
