Truth of the matter is, I'm not more than mildly annoyed about Delicious's apparently imminent demise. All of the bookmarks I care about are saved elsewhere as well. Delicious is mostly for you guys, I only really started using it 'cause my hundreds and hundreds of Dean/Castiel recs wouldn't fit on the rec list post.
I took a quick look at LJ stats and apparently that post gets a few hundred hits per day, but I doubt my Delicious page gets nearly as much action? Is there a way to find out? Anyway, I thought, hey, I might as well import everything into Google bookmarks because it seems easy enough, but it turns out all the tags and descriptions get stripped off, that way. D:
So, what I wanna know is if it's worth going through the trouble of re-adding tags/descriptions to everything, or shelling out the $7 (probably soon to be $8) to get a Pinboard account. (Can anyone confirm tags and descriptions get preserved in a Delicious --> Pinboard importation?) How many of you would actually be disappointed if my public bookmarks disappeared? The LJ rec list will stay either way, of course.

*sigh* I am going through all of my bookmarks, one by one, and saving them into word documents. There are over 1000. And that's only because when my old computer died, it ate most of my H/D recs. I created a journal to save them all on. Will compile over Christmas and then link people to it if they want. I'm going to have Dean/Cas recs (though there are few, haha) so if you want me to, I can post some of your stuff there with tags? I'm going to have to tag everything else anyway. *HEADDESK*

Date: 2010-12-17 02:21 pm (UTC)The more I think about it, the more I kind of want to get the Pinboard archival account for $25. SAVED FICS which are searchable, and I'll still have them even after they get locked/deleted, as so many fics often do.

Date: 2010-12-22 11:18 pm (UTC)I've had the opposite experience with regards to stuff I pay for, but then again, I don't pay for too many things. LJ is one of the major exceptions, and I've been using it since 2003.
