I'm not sure how I feel about Sam and Dean being so flippant about not being able to live for very much longer, but ehh, let's focus on Dean's "hope I got that kinda kick when I'm his age because HOW ELSE WILL I PLEASE CAS?" ♥


This might've been the best moment of the episode. XD Dean is clearly getting more comfortable with other guys' personal space and privacy and MALE PARTS thanks to Cas.


DEAN'S CUTE LITTLE "STAY CLASSY" GRIN IS ADORABLE. You are the classiest of them all, Dean. ♥


Am I the only one who thought Dean saying "we're not done" to Bobby was really endearing? Like he's the parent all of a sudden, taking care of Bobby, awww.


See what I mean about Dean disregarding personal space? Cas is totally rubbing off on him. And omg I know it was a fake smile but it's still sososocute.

This guy? IS AMAZING. Holy shit, I saw the promo clip and was really impressed with how Dean-like he was, but he actually kept that up throughout. Whoa. Hats off, yo, he nailed it. Stupid faces and all. And his rusty junk comment, hahahhaa you know he was only that D: about it because Cas got sad.

Bobby's little breakdown was actually sort of uncomfortable for me to watch, IDK, IDK, he's supposed to be the strong, reliable one, right? This is like watching my father cry. :P


Okay, actually maybe the Bobby/Dean bitchfest is the best part of the ep. XD Also, Dean only talks about his butt cheeks with Cas, kthnx.

Sam? ROCKED THIS EPISODE. I love how he kept tricking the witch at every turn, awww, Sammy is growing up!

Dean apologizing was actually the best part of the ep. Awww, it means so much, coming from Dean. And their whole conversation was very much with the ♥♥♥ and exactly what Bobby needed to hear, that he was still needed.



Bobby actually looks happy and bright-eyed here! ♥


And finally, Dean, with the cute. He's really, really cute. Boyishly so. Such a stark contrast to last season. (Obviously he's just in love and that's why he's so cute and happy all the time, none will convince me otherwise.)


So, what bothers me a little is that they just let the dude go. I mean, this was supposed to be a CASE, right? They saved their own asses and just abandoned the case? This witch is a pretty nice one, sure, but he's still killed some folks. IDK, whatever. Just scroll back up and stare at the first picture some more. No, seriously.

Gone for the weekend, btw, going up to the great white north to visit sexts! We're gonna be Starbuck & Eight for Halloween. :D

That's actually kinda funny, if you think about. He didn't want to mention his buttcheeks tingling to Bobby, and yet he tells Cas that he "didn't poop for a week" the last time Cas ~*zapped*~ him.

Hai I love you for these. Very important two words I missed pre-edit. I was saddened by this week's lack of Cas, but as compared to last week's lack of ANY SPN AT ALL, I think I'm happy with what we got. Especially with old!Dean, dude's got SKILLS. Have fun on your trip! ^^

Once again, your pictorial recap makes me want to rewatch a "meh" ep right away and give it another shot. I did love the actor's portrayal of old!Dean: he totally nailed it. And Bobby ... ((Hugs)) And the Manwitch (thabk you, TWOP board!) kicked ass both as a not-pure-evil villain and a new character. I would love to see him again but won't hold my breath. The rest of the ep didn't WOW me but it was no Paris Hilton ep, and for that I'm thankful. I do wish there was a little more focus on the, you know, APOCALYPSE. Sheesh.

I actually sort of liked that they let the guy go . . because while he was a little lacking in the morality department, he did both good things and bad things to people, and I think he meant it when he said he wasn't a murderer. From what we saw of the rest of the episode, I don't think he would have intended for the dude who died to, y'know, die. And the guy was human - a witch, but human, and his level of evil was a very human level of evil. I don't see Dean letting him live as all that different from him wanting to let Casey (demon in Sin City, if you don't remember the name) live - actually, remarkably similar level of evilness and consequences, there. In both cases, somebody just living it up a bit and there being peripheral damage.

. . but that's my take on Dean as a character, he talks a good game as far as being this unforgiving badass, hates all things supernatural, etc., but he's empathic to a fault. He doesn't believe in mercy and redemption and all that good stuff as philosophical ideals, but he's pretty easy to convince to believe in individual people (or non-people).

. . Sam, on the other hand, is all manner of idealistic in theory and has distressingly little problem killing in cold blood, in practice. I think if Sam had killed off the witch in this episode, it would have been a major step backward for him.

Hullo. You don't know me, and I lurk a lot, but I just wanted to say that I really agree 100% with your take on the contrast between Dean and Sam's characters. They're brothers, they're on the same team, and yet they deal with these moral quandries VERY differently. And I think that's what makes it so interesting to watch how they evolve under each others' influence. I wish I could be a bit more eloquent about it, but in summary, I agree with you. :)

I kept looking for your picspam and then I must have missed it because you always cheer me up. And I've been so grumpy with the show lately. I really wish I could just dose myself with the way you view the episodes. Just enjoy and not get frustrated. I did enjoy some things about the episode, especially Jensen/Dean's conversation with Bobby.

It helped that I knew there wasn't going to be any Cas in it before I even watched it, so I didn't have to spend the episode wondering. And I didn't have any expectations, more importantly, aside from being able to see some prettiness for 40 minutes. :)

I actually LOVED Sam in this episode. And that's great because I haven't really loved Sam so much since Season 3.

I also love how none of them were worried that Dean was actually stuck like that, which you would THINK might be a concern.

I know what you mean about Bobby. He's like a grumpy teddy bear with all the dad vibes and he's not supposed to think he's pathetic! D: But then Dean told him he was family (even though he should know that) :D

And that last pic you put up, Jensen really made me pause with his adorableness and happy face in that pose while I was watching.
