He's finally able to look beyond Sam and see that there are more important things in the world, and that he, Dean Winchester, actually deserves more in his life than eternally chasing after Sam. It's always been Sam walking away from him, and now that Dean is strong enough that he can walk away from Sam, they can be more equal. And less codependent? It hurts now, but it'll be good in the long run, I'm sure of it.

We saw a little bit of it, in Lucifer Rising, where he was about to let Sam go until Bobby yelled at him for it, but this? This was so satisfying, I've wanted this since Sam called him weak and said "boo hoo" to him after he finally opened up about Hell. I've wanted this since before that. SO SATISFYING.

I like the idea, but I'm not sure how it fits with what they've said in interviews! :|

He deserves a LOT of spanking for what he did, but still, he's Sammy. How can you resist his dimpled little smile and teary eyes? He was particularly adorable on this episode.

Wasn't all that excited at Chuck and the fan (I can only hope the fan doesn't appear again because she was kind of creepy!), but I DO LOVE CHUCK so much, so I hope to see LOTS more.

and TRACY SERIOUSLY, THE PACING OF THE EPISODE. Wasn't it fast and action-y and fantastic? I couldn't recognize my old show for a moment, and I'M OKAY WITH IT. It was probably even TOO thick, but they did right, and they'll probably unfold some things better later (like getting Dean to hug Cas and stuff), but as a premiere this one ROCKED.

I too am disappointed that there wasn't a hug. Sniff. Ah well. At least he's back. And badass. And sexy and hot. And saving Dean. And there was a least a touch.

I too am so happy to see that Dean is not sweeping it all away (which is what I feared was going to happen) and just saying it's okay Sammy. I love the way Jensen kept a seething undercurrent of anger in most of his lines. It was beautifully acted. Just beautiful.

I immediately thought God too. I couldn't think of any other reason Zachariah (who is a delicious love-to-hate villain) would look scared. I mean he wouldn't be scared of an archangel and I don't think he would be scared of Lucifer either. It seemed to me more of a "Oh crap. Daddy's back and he's going to be pissed" look.

I really wonder if they'll ever have the chance to portray a (Dean/)Castiel fan. Wouldn't it be awesome if this one fangirl wouldn't be a charicature (no matter how much I love Becky), but a really cool fan who can help? This would be like telling us "Yes. We approve of Dean/Castiel."

I don't seem to be as excited about Meg as everyone else.
I must admit that she surprised me a bit, because judging from the pictures I wouldn't have expected her to be so... psychotic? But somehow, I still think that the first Meg is better.

This is really my new favourite scene. I was either expecting Cas to randomly drop in, like "hey guys, I'm still alive" or to participate in smiting Bobby's demon and Meg. With... exorcising.
But this... OH CAS! This was an awesome fighting scene (did "the boys" show Misha how to do it?)

I really love that he visibly relaxes as soon as Zach's gone and it's just Dean and Sam.
I also loved this moment. Good thing that Zachariah really did go.

I LOVE THAT HE SAYS "NO, I CARVED IT INTO YOUR RIBS" WITH A STRAIGHT A FACE AS EVER, AND SO MATTER-OF-FACT-LY.
When he delievered this line, I thought he was being... sarcastic. But then he's serious. Oh god. And surely, they will be hidden from every angel in creation BUT him, because Dean and Cas are connected in ways deeper than friendship. Or maybe and more realistically, it's just the handprint, but who cares. I would die flailing if Castiel said something like "We're always connected, I left my mark on you".

I'm so excited about Castiel, I can't wait for the next episode. Hopefully, he'll be around for more than five minutes.

Well, the publishing company went bankrupt after Dean went to Hell, right, so none of the fans know about Castiel yet. I mean, I guess it's possible that they'll start publishing again, but also, I don't think Kripke would want to show quite that much blatant favoritism. He knows there are a hell of a lot more Wincest fans than there are Dean/Castiel fans.

My first impression is also that the first Meg was better, though I barely remember her, so IDK. We'll see, I guess! I am reserving judgment.

MOST AWESOME CASTIEL ENTRANCE EVER. COMING BACK FROM THE DEAD TO KICK SOME ASS, EEEE! THERE SHOULD BE AN AWESOME CASTIEL ENTRANCE LIKE THIS IN EVERY EPISODE. Hee, Misha did mention being taught to fight at VanCon, but it wasn't by the boys, I don't think.

CASTIEL'S DEADPAN DELIVERIES OF RIDICULOUS LINES MAKE ME SO SO SO HAPPY, LOL. He said this exactly like he said his "funniest angel in the garrison" line from last season. XD I would also die if Dean asks Castiel how he can still find them and Castiel says something to that effect. I would die.

Sam shivered as he leaned against the splintered wooden wall of the barn. His shoulder ached from the fight with the demon-spawn Mar-Delok and his clothes were soaked from the cold rain which fell outside. He let the knife fall into the dust and turned to his brother.

Dean was shaken up. His chest was heaving with exertion and his shredded shirt was barely clinging to his muscular frame. Sam could see he was hurt.

"Hey. Are you ok?" Sam stepped closer and put his arms around Dean. "We're going to get out of this, they can't keep us here long."

The brothers huddled together in the dark as the sound of the rain drumming on the roof eased their fears of pursuit. Despite the cold outside and the demons who, even now, must be approaching, the warmth of their embrace comforted them.

And then Sam caressed Dean's clavicle.

"This is wrong," said Dean.

"Then I don't want to be right." replied Sam, in a husky voice.

OMG When they were driving in the rental car and Dean says "We need to find Cas" I thought of you like IMMEDIATELY (after my own squee of course). I love your episode analyses so much haha please don't stop :P BAD-ASS CAS IS BAD-ASS. Also, I think I'm on the Lucy side in terms of who repaired Castiel. It would work with the whole sympathy thing, and why Cas disappeared so quickly when he was asked how he was alive. Man, you're picspam has made me even more incoherant about this episode! I was just getting past that!

Guh. Dean's face when he thinks Cas is dead. That still hurts. But MY FRIEND CAS!!! ♥ I still grin so much at that.

I love Chuck, like so much. I was disappointed that he was barely in the episode. Like a certain trench coat wearing angel.

I doubled over laughing at the wincest and the Samgirl. I think I got too much of a kick out of that, but oh well.

And man, you just had to have that sad pic of Sam in there. Poor boy. He looks crushed and it hurts, damnit.

And I'm still having issues with Bobby being possessed since he's so paranoid and promotes safety against possession and all that it just strikes me as odd that he was possessable. Shouldn't he have had the proper protection for himself? I am refusing to let this go.

Zachariah is so awesomely evil. I love that the angels aren't so fluffy and nice. That whole bit just made me so gleeful, especially with what follows it.

CAS KICKING SOME MOTHERFUCKING ASS! BECAUSE IT HASN'T GOTTEN OLD YET! IT IS STILL AWESOME AND I LOVE THAT SCENE SO MUCH RIGHT NOW!

I was smiling and generally feeling warmed when he called them "these boys". Then when he relaxed after Zachariah was gone, just, oh Cas.

And yes, the ribs! Because a brand visible on the outside wasn't enough for Cas! And I love Cas's deadpan delivery of the line so much!

I LOVE LUCIFER! It is still weird saying that, lol. And I want to see Mark as Lucifer, like so much.

I loved Bobby yelling at the doctor and said doctor running for the hills! Then Dean's whole speech after that. ♥ And that pic of happy, smiley Sam, thank you! I needed that after the sad one. It is so good to see those dimples again.

And just, your last paragraph about Dean and Sam, ♥. That is what I want from this so much. You just described it more eloquently than I've been able to.

Secondly - OMG. This episode ROCKED MY WORLD!!! FAN FICTION!!!!!!!!!! I can't even explain how deliriously happy that makes me. It just shows that Kripke knows what a big part of his audience wants and watches the show for, and to give it a little nod like that was awesome. AWESOME. When they mentioned it last year I just about lost my mind, but this year... just... I can't even speak, it makes me so happy. And the girl was awesome. I loved when Sam asked if she could stop touching him, and she said "No." LOL!

Third - I ADORE BOBBY. I knew the minute he walked in that something wasn't right. And Bobby never, ever, would have said that to either of those boys.
