Sorry I haven't been around too much lately, school is kicking my ass. And it will continue to do so till the end of May, when I have my 1st year PhD exam, ugh. But I am still semi-here and trying my best to keep up with all of you!

In the meantime, a few shiny things from the past few days:

1. Dreamwidth! I'd been waffling on whether or not to get an account, but judging from the number of posts I've seen about it lately, it's looking to be a bigger movement than I'd previously thought. So, in the interests of not being left out, I went ahead and got an account -- find me here! -- and goddamn, was it a difficult choice between tracy and tracy-loo-who. :P But tracy-loo-who was a high school nickname, I figured it was maybe time to grow up. or something. Haven't decided yet exactly what I'm going to do with it since I've got a permanent account here on LJ, but it's there, and I'm sure the more of you guys I see over there, the more I'll be over there, too. :)

2. eggblue wrote fic about my fic! I don't know whether to call it a sequel or what, but Keep Only One of Us Free is about Dean reading The Forty-First Year (as opposed to remembering the events), which is. Whoa. I am so *_* over this, you guys. like. *_*!!!

3. Revamped desktop. ISN'T IT PRETTY? Now I cannot stop staring.

Omg, so I set up deancas_updates when there were all those Misha interviews coming out left and right and people were spazzing over On the Head of a Pin everywhere, but I've yet to actually get it running yet, gah. Now that end-of-the-semester craziness is happening.. I dunno, it's taken a bit of a backseat. :(

DW is the new big thing, apparently. People were upset at LJ for becoming so corporate-like and unfriendly to fandom, and there was so much talk about migrating to GJ or IJ but all the alternatives had issues too, so people started working on DW (here's a post (http://wiki.dwscoalition.org/notes/Why_Dreamwidth) with lots of "why DW?" links). They're almost out of beta stages now, and once they open it to the public, there's looking to be a huge number of people who set up shop over there.

Everyone is talking about Dreamwidth and I made myself an openID account so I'll get an invite on April 30th (apparently anyways) but I doubt that people will abandon Livejournal for Dreamwidth so I'll just use it as a second journal but my main journal will always be LJ and I don't intend to leave anytime soon *shrugs* I'm gonna add you over there as soon as I got my own account!

They started on this project back when 6A was hating on fandom and taking our money without any regard for what we wanted, so the DW project started as a sort of safe haven for fandomers and users who miss the Brad era of LJ. So in short, less corporate and more user-friendly.
