Oh man, I was actually thinking that earlier today -- I'm totally going to put together thematic rec lists of Dean/Castiel fics when I get back from the con, along with an epic Misha post of links to all interviews/videos ever posted (he hasn't been around that long, this is doable, right? >.>), ALONG WITH a Dean/Castiel newsletter which I've been discussing with the other deancastiel mods. lolol I WILL BE SO BUSY WITH THIS FANDOM, but I've gotta have SOMETHING to keep me going after BSG, right? D:

I have no idea what goes on in the rest of SPN fandom, but it seems like there can't be that many pairing-specific newsletters because, I mean, what else was there before Dean/Castiel other than Dean/Sam that had any kind of significant following at all? There are definitely loads of pairing-specific newsletters in HP fandom, though, because it's so huge. BSG fandom... there's only really been galacticanews for the past long while, which covers everything.

I DID NOT KNOW THAT HE DID THAT! AND, TO RAHM, EVERYONE IS A BONEHEAD (EXCEPT FOR BARRY BUT, TO BE FAIR, EVEN HE CAN BE A BONEHEAD SOMETIMES TOO) SO THEY COULD TOTALLY BITCH ABOUT THAT.

Misha would be all "Hey, Rahm, what's up?" and all he'd get back is some garbled swearing interspersed with phrases like 'Geithner won't stop complaining about being lonely' and 'Orz and his fucking boots' and 'FAVS!'

Ah, you know - I had a feeling that HP might have a few. I've never really been a proper part of Potter fandom. I just sit in my corner and occasionally write Cedric/Oliver. It's like Who fandom, so big and lumbering that it's terrifying. S'why I stick to the Castiel-centric side of SPN fandom, as well. (My background is mostly in tiny fandoms)

Oh my god. Oh my god, I SEE WHAT YOU ARE DOING HERE, slowly sliding all of these Misha/Rahm thoughts into my head. jfkldslkfd good god they'd be epic together, though.

The only bit of HP fandom I was ever a part of was the H/D corner, and we definitely had our own newsletter and so so so many awesome comms. But I'd hear about HP/SS a lot, and the het ships were pretty big.. *shudder* Anyway, yes, I'm staying firmly in the Castiel side of fandom and never venturing out into the rest of it because that shit is just scary. :P

So, they kick back, they drink, Misha tells Rahm stories of his decadent actor lifestyle and tries to persuade him that he should take up a hobby like, oh, building houses. And Rahm would like to say he's tempted? But he's living some kind of dream at the moment and, god-fucking-damnit, he believes in Barry and what he's doing. And Misha? He just smiles - because Rahm's just reminded himself of why he works with the boneheads.

Sometimes Misha tries to get Rahm to realise just how much he ♥s Barry. Then Rahm gives him this look and Misha remembers just how much of a scary mofo Rahm is and he backs off. Doesn't stop him from thinking it...

Since Misha ships Dean/Cas so hard, it's clearly, clearly plausible that he ships Rahm/Barry, too, and he's actually in a bit of a position to try to hook them up, and oh god oh god. I think he could hold his own against Rahm, though, if it came down to it.

Misha can totally hold his own - even though a little part of him is always aware that this is Rahm fucking Emanuel. So he starts sending e-mails with links to polls rating Barry's attractiveness and subtly commenting on Barry's appearance at that recent press conference. And Rahm is one step away from calling him and shouting down the phone at him: "WHAT EXACTLY ARE YOU TRYING TO PROVE, COLLINS? JUST BECAUSE EVERYONE ELSE IS GAY FOR THE PRESIDENT DOESN'T MEAN THAT I AM!"

When he finally does that? Barry hears it and is all o_O eyed. And Rahm curses the day pretty-boy Collins came into his life.

YES. NEXT YEAR. FOR AWESOME. OH, OH! I DIDN'T MENTION THIS ANYWHERE YET! I figured that my life was suffering from being goalless - that that's why I sometimes feel so emphatically directionless. So, new goal: I've declared to my mother that I intend to go to New York next year. Mostly because the East Coast is easiest for me to get to and maybe a little bit because NY contains Anderpants & Jon & Stephen and just being in the same city as them appeals.

Also, well, I've never been to America properly. (Just passed through on my way to and from NZ) New York seems like a good place to start.

Rahm's cursing of the day pretty-boy Collins came into his life will be short-lived, though, because soon he'll be cursing at Barry to hurry the fuck up or he'll punch him.

*sighs* Man. I am so totally in love with this Rahm&Misha as buddies universe. They'd rule the world before anyone realised what was happening.

I imagine that I could probably do both. I mean, good Gods, if I'm still working the same job next year then I deserve everything I get. Eventually, when I get my arse into gear and do something about it, I want to move down to London (I have friends there) and get a 'proper' job whilst I try and, y'know, write a book. It's hard to be an author when you don't actually write.

Oh, yes, that's not clear at all. *Jen fails at clarity apparently*

The plan is thus, hopefully: move to London (with a real job) sometime between now and the end of the year. Plan first holiday to New York for next year.

There will be a point - sometime after I've made a success of myself, I hope, where I intend to spend some time living in the States. Currently I'm torn between the idea of living in Chicago and living in New York. Both have different appeals to me, you know? But I suspect that won't be for a while yet.

Ah, so your stint in London will be pretty short-lived. Okay, that makes sense, and my (selfish) vote is for New York simply because it's closer to me! XD And I dunno, it seems like there might be more opportunities for aspiring authors in New York, but that's just a gut feeling and not based on anything concrete at all, because I have no idea how these things work.
