...There was an awesome Misha/Sera interview in Sci Fi magazine (

goth_clark was kind enough to scan it) and NO ONE on my flist is talking about it? What? *blink* Well, then, ALLOW ME SQUEE AT YOU.

Here are some of my favourite bits:

EASTWOODY. MISHA TACKS "Y"S ONTO THE ENDS OF WORDS. SO DO I, SO I'M GOING TO TAKE THIS AS A SIGN THAT WE ARE MEANT TO BE, K? Seriously, though, I can't get over how adorable that is. *_*

"I don't know whether he's going to be a good thing or a bad thing. His number-one edict is to follow orders, and it seems like the orders that come from above are not necessarily always the sunniest and sweetest."

A bad thing? Consider this in the context of the promo, and.. My lower lip, it wibbles. But the fact that he uses words like "edict" makes it a bit better.

The Clint Eastwoody angel had quite an introduction early on this season

JUST POINTING OUT THE USE OF THE TERM "EASTWOODY" HERE.

"It seems like the stakes have been raised, and it seems like what they've done with Dean and Sam, in terms of stakes in their own battles with good and evil and agnosticism and finding faith and all that, has gone along really nicely, paralleling the bigger story arc," says Collins.

Maybe because it's 5 am, but I had to read this several times before I got it, Misha makes me feel so dimwitted sometimes. :P Actually, scratch that, I still don't get it, them saving/threatening/recruiting Dean and Sam parallels a bigger arc? I'm pretty sure he doesn't mean God's been doing the same to the angels or to humanity in general, so..? Someone smarter than me please explain this. D:

Sera Gamble: "When it comes to Misha, he's just somebody that we found we wanted to write more material for. Part of the reason Castiel is around so much is just because Misha's doing such a good job."

READING ABOUT PEOPLE PRAISING MISHA MAKES ME HAPPY, OKAY?

When the storyline was developed there were several angels "on deck," including the contentious Uriel, played by Robert Wisdom. Castiel was originally just charged with dragging Dean out of hell and providing some exposition. "It wasn't so necessary for this character to be the character that all this stuff was happening to, and it's just kind of developed that way," says Gamble. "It's been a combination of becoming increasingly attached to the character and increasingly appreciative of the actor. ... We kill a lot of people. But it really is a testament to Misha that he has been around for so long. A guest actor lasting for three episodes on our show is a big deal."

HEY FANDOM, DON'T YOU FEEL REALLY FUCKING VALIDATED RIGHT NOW? 'CAUSE I SURE AS HELL DO. I mean, we already knew this, but it never hurts to be reminded that Misha's awesome, coupled (teehee, coupled, I'm so immature) with our love, is what's keeping him on this show. Imagine the horror of having Castiel show up that epic LR scene, spew some exposition about seals, and then just disappear. *shudders delicately* I'm just.. infinitely glad the writers are growing as fond of Castiel/Misha as we are and saw how much sense it made for him to be "the character" because really, who else could it possibly be?

In fact, Collins has been signed to a tidy chunk of episodes this season and may end up being a regular if Supernatural is renewed for a fifth season.

MAY? What is this MAY shit that she speaks of? D:

However, when it came to taking on the role, "I think I had a little bit of trepidation at first, 'cause I had all sorts of associations about what an angel would be like, and I didn't want to play something that was just going to be a glorified tooth fairy," says Collins. "When I read the first script and saw that there was a lot of darkness and a lot of texture and militance to the character, it made it so much more interesting, and then I was really excited. Just on the page it was a really cool character."

MISHA. Misha doesn't want to be a glorified tooth fairy. Misha talks about "texture and militance" but then ends with "really cool character" like he forgot himself for a moment but then decided he would try to not seem 3000 times more sophisticated than the rest of us. Just 2999 times. :)) I love this man so much it hurts.

Castiel is coming down to Earth and "interacting with humans, especially with Dean, and he's starting to understand how they operate, and I think in the process he is being humanized a little bit. And so slowly bringing that element into the character has been interesting and challenging. He begins to understand irony a little bit, and maybe doesn't take everything Dean says at face value after some time, and there's just these little things. I think it has to be kind of subtle," says Collins.

HELLO, FANFICTION. This is just like all the fics out there where Dean makes wisecracks and Castiel eventually, after several deep, seeping-into-Dean's-soul looks, begins to understand and appreciate his sense of humour. And for some reason Misha thinking it has to be subtle just tickles me in all the right ways, I'm a huge fan of subtleties. Maybe it's a slasher thing. ;)

"The way he approached Castiel as a character, the way he did in his audition and the way he's been developing him, is with this curiosity about people," says Gamble. "Castiel has not been embodied for a couple thousand years, and now all of a sudden he's walking on Earth and he's around all these people having these really intense reactions to ~~DEAN~~ things, and he always plays these beats like he really does not understand where people are coming from, but he desperately wants to. ... So you might think of angels as knowing more than people do and being superior and more spiritual and more godly, but his angel comes to the table sometimes not knowing very much at all. And he's been learning a lot as he goes along. I think that was a really smart choice on Misha's part, because Castiel has been growing so much right before our eyes this season."

Again with the loving it when people gush over him, and AGAIN WITH THE FANFIC. The writers are so exactly on the same page where Castiel's concerned as we are, and that just makes me so warm'n'tingly inside. Clueless!Cas is canon, you guys, and for once we're not reading too much into the character when we see him growing and learning from Dean. Oh, show. Oh, Cas.

"There's this kind of newborn quality to Castiel and his interaction. It has been really fascinating to play around with. As if everything in the world is something that he's discovering as he goes, but at the same time not having emotions."

Okay, so I vehemently disagree with the bit about not having any emotions, but the rest of it, with the newborn bit, is adorable enough to sort of make up for it. Should I be worried, though, that Misha thinks Castiel doesn't have emotions? :P

"You can find any individual, any character, and it's just a matter of searching that out and uncovering it, because we're all a part of the human race. Approaching this character was a little bit daunting, because he's not actually a part of the human race. He's something that transcends humanity. And so trying to make something real that is not human was a totally different project for me. We're governed by our limbic minds and our reptilian minds, and having these instincts and impulses and waves of emotion coming over us, and all these things that make human beings act like human beings. But it's a totally different feel to play around with Castiel. It's something that I haven't been accustomed to at all," says Collins.

I just can't stop quoting every little thing he says, SORRY. But god, how adorable is it that he knows about the limbic system? He doesn't even study this shit and I still wouldn't be surprised if he knew more neuro than I do. *_*

The other thing Collins wasn't accustomed to was the fan interest he'd get by taking on a role that was complex but wasn't supposed to last very long. "Normally, when I've done something in the past, when it first comes out there's a little press junket and then it disappears. This is getting a lot of fan mail, and that sort of stuff has been different for me, and kind of exciting," he says.

KIND OF EXCITING, HE SAYS. JUST WAIT TILL WE GET OUR HANDS ON YOU IN LESS THAN TWO WEEKS, BB. JUST WAIT. :)) :)) :))

"I wasn't expecting it to go so far. I originally just signed on for four episodes, and I thought it would be a quick thing that I was done with in September and then move on to something else. It's been unexpected to get it for a longer period of time. Seeing [the fan reaction and] my face on online animated images for onscreen personas has been pretty surprising," says Collins with a laugh.

MISHA IS A MISHAWIFE. OR A MISHAHUSBAND, WHATEVER. MARRIED TO HIMSELF. WANTS TO KIDNAP HIMSELF. CLASPCLASPS TO HIMSELF. FLKSK;DFJSLKFAJ;KLSDJFLKS

"I have to say [getting published as a poet] was super exciting. I'd been writing poetry for a few years and I didn't really take it seriously. I was just writing some poems, and on a lark I sent some out and was totally shocked, and I couldn't believe how excited I was. I didn't expect them to get published. And when they did I was more excited, actually, than when I've landed starring roles in movies. Maybe that shows I'm on the wrong career path," laughs Collins.

Just more evidence of his utter adorableness, that's all. I mean, just picturing excited!Misha does funny things to my heart, and for some totally unknown and unprecedented reason I get an image of a really cute puppy running around wagging its tail. Yes, no idea where that came from, at all.

He's always known he wouldn't "fit into a normal job or a totally routine life." So in a way, playing a "warrior of God" somehow fits for this unconventional man. "I'm actually really loving doing it. So I'm super happy to be playing somebody who's...I'm an angel. That's a great gig," he laughs. "The kind of stuff you dream of, I think."

HE THINKS. As if he's sort of uncertain, and he's so awed at his own angel ass, and jesus christ on a fucking pie I want to hug this unconventional man so badly. Especially when he says SUPER HAPPY, what kind of dork SAYS that? MishaMishaMisha.

And it's the kind of stuff that offers new surprises for two hot guys named Sam and Dean...

YES, WE KNOW ALL ABOUT THOSE KINDS OF NEW SURPRISES, DON'T WE? *swoons*

"The apocalypse is pretty juicy material. I don't know where you can go after the apocalypse. It is kind of as big as things tend to get. Maybe they can invent something bigger than apocalypse."

So modest, we all know that if anyone can come up with something juicier than the apocalypse, it's ~~his dick~~ him.

Nnngh, I just realized that was practically the whole article, oops. This is just what Castiel/Misha does to me, I've learned to deal with it. Now, WHERE IS YOUR SQUEE?

Haven't gotten through even half the fics from that fest yet, but for now, here's an incomplete list of ones that I especially loved:

Putting the 'Christian' In Hans Christian Andersen -- Immediately became one of my very favourite Dean/Castiel fics of all time, seriously. Fairy tale perfect.

Qui Custos es Mei -- This one just made me so fucking ridiculously happy. Stupidly so.

Graveyard Talks -- Reads like the most amazing episode ever. The journey they go on together is just... read it. Please.

See the World in Green and Blue -- In which Castiel does laundry! ♥

Good Boy -- Cracky but then.. so dark and wrong it makes me feel sort of sick. I love it.

Paradisi//Inferno -- The imagery and pain and visceral quality of this one slays me.

Man of Unclean Lips -- Naked baptism in the rain! XD But it's more than that, it's one of those moments between Dean and Castiel, one of those defining ones that needs to be canon.

It's the Capital of Sweden, Dean -- The fic that made me love Alastair, really.

Turn Away From Truth -- Whump, truth, genuine emotion, my favourite sex position (for boys), and more, all wrapped up into one fic. *_*

Half a Beer and a Balcony Lawn Chair -- There's just something so quietly lovely about this one that I can't get enough of.
