nnngh. Can I just say that it's a really good frakking thing SPN airs the day before BSG and not the day after? Because it's the day after BSG now and I still can't. oh my god, my brain. my heart. my show. This is why I needed to have that book so badly. T_T

Because I still don't know how to talk about the episode, I'm going to talk about the book instead. Here are some letters.

Ronald D. Moore. I read his letter last night before the episode and, god, it's really the beginning of the end, you guys. Two more months, and I can't believe it's already over for them.


David Eick. No, it really doesn't get any better than this. :( I love his vision of this show and what it was/is, to all of us.


Edward James Olmos. This one sort of reads like a speech Adama would give, actually. :)) ♥


Mary McDonnell. I'm sure you'll all agree with me when I say Mary is one of the most inspiring actresses I have ever seen on screen. I love her letter, and none other makes me wish I'd been able to be a part of this as much as hers does. :(


More later, I'm supposed to meet up with people in a few minutes to go snowboarding, wheee!

I gotta ask, though, should I even be posting these? I mean, I know a lot of you are dying to see them, but it feels like a breach of privacy, almost. All these letters are so personal, they weren't meant for us, and I have so much respect for every member of the cast and crew that I'd be dismayed if any of them get upset about these showing up on the internet. I wish I'd thought to ask Aaron how he'd feel about it at the Q&A thing he so kindly did, but I didn't think of it. Give me some of your (honest) wisdom? D:

Well, I'm all for posting them. It's not like you went out and stole the book from someone to make copies of the letters and pictures. You bought the book from someone who felt that it was okay to give the book to someone who was not involved with the production. It's my understanding that the book was sent out to other people involved with BSG, in some capacity, but might have never met the cast and crew, either.

I agree with jeebs83, the book was also sent to people who never met the cast and crew. I don't think you should feel bad for sharing the pages with us. But then again, I'm totally biased lol.

I agree with jeebs83. And if it's legality: since the NBC/Universal logo is on it, it means that (at some point) they had the rights to distribute it on a larger scale. So it's totally not...illegal, lol. But I hope you know how much we appreciate this - I'm floored. THAT PICTURE OF MARY AND EDDIE! *flails*

Breach of privacy!? Tell that to the dudes who sold it on ebay, lol. Anyway, as nice and sweet as the letters are, I doubt they're that personal. They're pretty general, and probably addressed/given to people who don't even know most of the "big names" that well. (Why else would various people even sell it on ebay?)

LOL Ron Moore and David Eick really think BSG is the best show EVER. Ok, maybe you do too. But you're a fan. It's just strange to hear someone who was involved in creating the show say that, even as thanks/kudos to the people who contributed.

BSG is my promise to myself, I only ever get it on boxset (to support it because I'm in the uk) and i binge it!
I only do it when i get the whole series or i get very annoyed at cliff hangers
and it breaks my heart it's the last series!

Last night's episode shocked the hell out of me. Not only did the revelation of the final cylon leave me with my jaw on the floor, but the part where 'you-know-who' did 'you-know-what' shocked me so badly that it gave me a headache. No pun intended, I assure you. Also, the situation Starbuck's in has got my brain running around in circles. Seriously, wtf?

As for posting pictures of pages from the book, I agree with pretty much everyone else here. The letters themselves aren't all that personal, so I highly doubt that any of the people involved are going to get their knickers in a twist over you posting them.

I have to admit that when I read Katee Sackhoff's letter (which I was definitely overjoyed to get the chance to read) I felt a little niggling like, "oh boy I bet she never meant for that to be public consumption." But I don't think anyone else's letter was quite so deeply personal/revelatory about their private business on that level. And I do think these letters are beautiful and I'm glad you shared them.

Hahha I have been flip-flopping so much. I was more excited for BSG at first, but then SPN aired and I couldn't stop thinking about it until BSG aired, and then I was way more hyped about that, but now commodoresexual has written Dean/Castiel meta and that's all I can think about now. :)) >.<

There were so many theories I read about that over the hiatus and even before! I'm oddly proud of the people who guessed right, even though I can't remember who they are. :">

I also thought maybe the whole Ellen thing was just to throw us off (or maybe it was just wishful thinking), but then I read this interview (http://latimesblogs.latimes.com/herocomplex/2009/01/the-final-cylon.html), and now I'm pretty convinced she is the fifth. :|

Actually that's what I was going to do, originally, and not that I don't trust my flist, but I figured they'd probably end up on the internet anyway..
