This is not about the SPN spoiler(s) or the LJ crisis, because I for one am content to just wait and see what happens. Seriously, let's all just chill the fuck out, okay? Read fandomatemylife's pie!fics, they're gen but so quietly sweet and heart-warming that I've come to think of them as the feel-good fics of Dean/Castiel fandom. :)

I will say, though, that it baffles me why most of fandom seems to think Castiel is clueless to the point of needing Dean to teach him how to put various items of clothing on or eat or what-have-you. Yes, he's an angel, yes, humanity is exotic and foreign to him, but there has been absolutely nothing in the scripts or in Misha's acting to indicate that he is anything less than capable of functioning in his human vessel. I can see the cuteness factor in having Dean teach him these things and I understand the appeal, but sometimes I can't help but feel mildly insulted on Castiel's behalf at the notion that, despite his vast wisdom and the many millennia he has spent watching humans, he can't figure out how to put shoes on. :P

Anyway, can I just point out that MY SHOW STARTS IN TEN DAYS, holy frakking shit, I have been waiting for this day since June and it's finally almost here and omgomgomg YOU GUUUUYS, MY SHOW. I'm excited and terrified and I'm dreading the end but I can't wait and just, if I happen to die in a freak accident on my way back to school in a couple of days (yes, returning early because that's where Amazon shipped my DVDs to, shut up), my entire existence will be reduced to a gigantic cosmic joke and somebody better come visit my grave to tell me who the final cylon is. And maybe like, bring a laptop with the episodes on them, that would be nice too, I'd love you forever. If I wasn't, you know, dead and all. Uh, I should probably quit this entry while I'm ahead.

ETA: Oh, oh, one more thing I forgot to mention: Sign up for the 'Secret Angels' fic exchange at deancastiel before tomorrow! There's a pretty decent turnout so far, including some writers I love, so I am really excited about this, omg. Still debating over whether I should, though, even though it won't be anonymous for me and I did sort of promise myself not to pile on unnecessary deadlines. Maybe I'll pinch hit at the end or something, hmm.

Really? I've seen loads of fics in which Dean teaches Castiel how to do such basic human things that it boggles me, but at the same time I gotta admit, it can occasionally be done very adorably (like in the pie!fics!) so.. *shrug* :P

Actually I was talking about BSG, lol, though of course I'm very excited about Supernatural too! It's just, the BSG hiatus has been going on since JUNE, so the SPN one really pales in comparison.

Have you been reading all the interviews from RDM and the cast? They all think the end is amazing, and one interviewer had a list of questions and RDM said that they would all be answered in the show. So I'm 99% sure they're going to blow us completely out of the frakking water, but, like Bill and Searider Falcon, it's so good I almost can't bring myself to watch it end. :(

I kind of wish I hadn't pre-ordered from Amazon cause the Best Buy box set looks so much cooler, but oh well. Still excited to finally have my hands on them, omg.

Ok. This is going to be multifaceted:

1 - You are my soul's sister. After the epic!meta and your recommending the pie series which I JUST READ SUNDAY AND AM IN LOVE WITH so it's fresh in my mind and then BAM, you're referring to it, too... it's official. Just thought you should know! XD

2 - Castiel might be awkward about the human he's wearing, but he is in no way stupid. You can't watch humans for that long and not have an inkling on how to do things. And I agree, there is nothing in canon to state he doesn't get things. The best way I quantify his curiosity and slight outsiderness is to think of him as a foreigner. He gets the basics and the universal human needs, but it's the more subtle nuances of Winchesterland that peak his curiosity. ^_^

3 - I've never been in SPN fandom until now, too, because nothing ever drove me to it like Dean/Cas has. But, even on the periphery, I knew some of the fandom wank... especially the brother vs brother thing because so many wankers give Dean the short end of the stick. But, I've got to say, it's a bit crazy to be in the middle of it for once. And I can't fathom people ready to give up on an AWESOME show like SPN just for a few random rumors that may or may not be true. Even if they are true, I'd prefer to see it before I make any rash decisions. If worst comes to worst, I can do what I did with Heroes and simply watch the seasons (in that case, season 1 and only season 1) I love and pretend the rest never happened. ^_^ But, SPN is like my baby, I've been with it from the beginning, and it may stumble a few times, but I'm going to watch it grow til the end.

2. Right, exactly, a foreigner who may not always be comfortable in his skin, but certainly familiar enough with the concepts to be able to put on a goddamn shirt. Or even if he wasn't familiar enough with the concepts, I like to think of him as fairly intelligent. :P

3. Hahha god, I know, I've friended so many SPN friends lately (♥!) that it's no wonder I'm catching more wind of the various waves of wank that only seem to recede when a newer and bigger one comes crashing in, but I would still rather stay out of it. -.- I, too, will stick with SPN till the bitter (but hopefully not) end, regardless of what happens, so it sounds like we're in this together! XD And ugh, let's not mention Heroes, ughthisseasonugh.

Obviously the cute factor is what's irresistible to most, which I can understand well enough, but that's not how Castiel is portrayed on the show. While we haven't seen him eat anything or done anything like those mundane things I don't think he'd be that confused or naive about normal everyday functions. I can see him being utterly perplexed about some modern day devices, perhaps curious about a lot of things such as technology and whatnot (since really, a lot of the stuff we create and enhance these days confuse the hell out of ME, hahaha!), but as for eating and clothes? I think he's capable of taking care of those things himself.

OMG INORITE? It's so unreal, and I'm nervous as hell because of this longass wait and finding out all these truths and revelations about characters and storylines and JESUS CHRIST IT'S THE FINAL EPISODES OF THE FRAKKING SHOW! I'm torn with being relieved we're finally getting the end but being sad because it is the end, aside from telemovies/webisodes and Caprica being in production, this series of BSG will no longer be.
