Didn't 2011 start like, two months ago?
Nov. 27th, 2011 11:40 pmHave you been asking yourself what kind of cards you should send to people this holiday season? No? Well, do it now!
And voila, here is your answer! :D

These cards are made from artwork by the kids at the Art Creation Foundation for Children in Jacmel, Haiti. Make a $20 or more donation in someone's name and we'll send them the card of your choice with a message telling them you've made a donation in their name. This works especially well if a) you don't know what to get someone for Christmas, and b) they are a decent person who would appreciate this sort of thing. Make a $50 donation and you (or a friend) will receive a set of all six cards, plus a beautiful bird ornament, handmade and signed by one of the kids.
Limited time only and all that! /plug
Other things I have been doing with my time recently:
I am thinking I might prefer to go WWOOFing in Peru than in Nepal. So many places in the world.

Other things I have been doing with my time recently:
- Watching 169 videos of various people crossing various roads with various live chickens.
- Going through hundreds of photos of dogs dressed as Cas.
- MISSING CASTIEL.
- Watching Real Steel, TWICE because IT IS SO AMAZING and totally one of those movies you don't expect much from going in but end up loving the shit out of.
- Watching Australia.
- Watching The Prestige (again, while making cheesecake).
- Mooning over Hugh Jackman, can you tell? I downloaded Kate & Leopold too and will probably watch tomorrow.
- Lounging around on the beach and feeling smug about being able to do that in late November.
- Eating turkey sandwiches. (Saddest Thanksgiving ever.)
- Educating myself on the visa and entry requirements of like 20 different countries. Did you know US citizens don't need a visa to visit Mongolia?
I am thinking I might prefer to go WWOOFing in Peru than in Nepal. So many places in the world.

Date: 2011-11-28 12:25 am (UTC)I guess so. I love Portugal but it's been a year and a half so I guess it's about time to move on.

Date: 2011-11-28 12:29 am (UTC)*cough* Sorry. That's my instant reaction to ANYONE one talking about Hugh Jackman. It's Pavlovian or something.
Anyway - I came here to approve of Real Steel. My Mum and I went and saw it last month and loved the hell out of it. (Hugh Jackman! Robot boxing! Sport movie cliches! Subverted sport movie cliches! Hugh Jackman! Father-son relationship! Low key and actually realistic romance! Hugh Jackman!)
Yes. Anyway. He is ridiculously attractive in Kate & Leopold. He has this Colin Firthian Period Drama lead thing going on that makes my heart stop.
One of the Loves Of My Life, basically, along with former New Zealand cricket captain Stephen Fleming.
You must seek out Paperback Hero, the Aussie film which was the first thing I saw him in. He's just. So lovely.

Date: 2011-11-28 12:33 am (UTC)fjdksljfkdls Omg Real Steel, I haven't loved Hugh Jackman in a movie so much since X-Men. Hugh Jackman ripping open a bag with his teeth and angrily handing his kid the burrito he bought him! Hugh Jackman saving his kid and then leaving him there to drag a giant robot out on his own! HUGH JACKMAN SHADOW BOXING. Nnnnnngh this movie hits so many of my buttons it's ridiculous.
I will go seek out Paperback Hero immediately! :D

Date: 2011-11-28 12:45 am (UTC)I knew, you see, I knew that with Hugh involved Real Steel would be more than a robot boxing movie. And I was right! It had real heart! There were bits where I very nearly cried because of EMOTIONS. And the kid was really good too! And Hugh's face was on my movie screen again and I just...I've missed him! (Last film of his I saw at cinema was, naturally, Wolverine so. Y'know.)
*post descends into incoherent flailing*

Date: 2011-11-28 12:50 am (UTC)Yes, exactly! I was not expecting to actually be moved by a movie about robot boxing, but I was. God I wish there was an IMAX theater in Lisbon, I want 3-story-tall Hugh Jackman face in my life so badly.
7 MINUTES UNTIL I HAVE PAPERBACK HERO. But I must sleep soon. Curses.

Date: 2011-11-28 12:56 am (UTC)Eee! Oh, I do hope it's as great as I remember it being. It also has Claudia Karvan, who was one of my favourite Aussie actresses when I lived there. Think I may have to go and look out a copy for myself, actually.

Date: 2011-11-29 05:45 am (UTC)please spread the word :)
because I suppose If Supernatural wins best TV Drama, PCA will broadcast the Spn team receiving the award, (well I suppose) as difference from the sci-fi category, that they usually don't broadcast the category.
