Most simultaneously awkward and heartbreaking scene EVER, whyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyy. WHO WROTE THIS EPISODE AND DID THEY DO IT TO TEASE US ON PURPOSE?

I MEAN. SAM YOU WERE SO HAPPY TO FIND OUT THAT CAS WAS ALIVE.


AND THEN YOU PRAYED TO HIM.


THEN THIS HAPPENS. WHY.








IT DIDN'T GET AWKWARD UNTIL YOU FUCKING MADE IT AWKWARD, SAM. D: D: D:

Dude, I've managed to be almost okay with the way everyone's been treating Cas like shit up until now because it could be rationalized, but how can this be rationalized? WHY WOULD IT BE SO AWKWARD TO HUG HIM, SAM? (Apart from knowing that Dean has to have the first hug because they are OTP, but come on, this is not a realistic rationalization on Sam's part.) This is not about some gay love -- I don't even ship Sam/Cas -- this is about Castiel who went to Hell and back and then went through Hell on earth all over again for these bleeding Winchesters and came out of it without a single friend who will show him a simple gesture of affection. Without a single friend who will even LET him show them a simple gesture of affection, even when he clearly wants to.

I am sitting here picturing Cas being so :( and frustrated over Dean's eternal and entitled ungratefulness and then SO HOPEFUL that Sam will be more of a friend (god knows he needs one right now) that he answers Sam's prayer immediately when he won't even answer Dean's call for help sometimes. He came not because there was any need to, but because he'd been so worried and he CARED ABOUT SAM. Cas, who doesn't hold a grudge over "help me or I'll kill you" when even Bobby is having a difficult time forgiving Sam, who chewed Dean out for the damage he could've done to Sam.

And you know why Sam prayed for him? To trick Cas into spilling everything. "Bobby told me everything that happened but plz walk me through the details."

Jesus, fuck this. Cas needs a t-shirt that says "I died, fell, and died again for the Winchesters and all I got was this lousy t-shirt." EXCEPT HE DIDN'T EVEN GET A LOUSY T-SHIRT. NOTHING. UGH RAGE.

Was there more to this episode? Oh, right, there was Cas chewing Dean out (upclose) in an angry lovers' spat and being very irrational about it because he CARES ABOUT SAM, but we'd already seen it.

Because Dean and Bobby are the only ones in Sam's life who matter. Obviously.

On the bright side, Dean was really cute in this episode.


Especially when he was being all ♥ over Sam being Sammy again.


I mean, I'm actually really happy about Sam'n'Dean, even if my Cas rage is kind of overshadowing it. And I'm thrilled our show is back! No real opinion on the Mother of All but we'll see where it goes.

One more side note that no one will care about, but it kind of amused me on a personal level: I've now been in Portugal for so long that it seems awkward that they don't kiss each other on the cheek when saying goodbye, hahahha. WAY MORE AWKWARD THAN IT WOULD BE FOR SAM TO HUG CAS. *COUGH*


Anyway, NOW OFF TO WATCH FRINGE WHICH I'M SURE WON'T ENRAGE ME.

ETA: I forgot to mention, Dean saying Cas is "like a child" was also kind of cute. There was a bit of fondness in there under the exasperation, I think. ♥

I don't even reall ship Sam/Castiel, but I wish Sam would have hugged him :( Cas needs a hug after everything. SAM, WHY DID YOU REFUSE TO HUG HIM. I DON'T UNDERSTAND D:

Actually, to me it read in character. Not that Cas isn't important to Sam, but that there's has never been a tactile relationship. Even in Swan Song when Sam was about to go and sacrifice himself, no hugging. And remember Sam is repressed Anglo American from the mid west whom in 5 1/2 years we've seen hug his immediate family what 4 -5 times?

Cas however wanted to hug him and I love him for that!

Idk, it's really starting to piss me off how the guys treat Castiel. It never really bothered me up till now, not like this, but just re-watching the awkward-almost-hugging scene makes me see red right now.

I admit it would have been kind of out of character of Sam to go and initiate the hug (same goes for Dean), but to outright reject him when the last he saw of Cas was Cas being blown up? IDK, man. And even if it is in character, it still enrages me, lol. -.-

Poor bb Cas, he's so long overdue a hug it's not even funny any more. At this point I'd settle for a hug from Balthazar, and I don't even like that guy! Right there with you every step of the way. I'm thinking we should just start calling show Samnatural. Because everything is really all about Sam. Better hell time than Dean, he gets all the good Cas moments. . . . sigh. I knew SG was a Sam girl but now I'm starting to not only dislike Dean but be bored by him.

The Mother thing? This is the new Big Bad more scary than Lilith? Um . . . really not so much.

LOL, I'm crabby. I just feel so sad for Cas who gives so much and gets nothing back. NOTHING.

But yea for happy Sam and Dean people. And Dean was cute in his little Excalibur moments. Is it wrong of me to have wanted a real dragon? LOL.
