Haven't read anybody else's episode reactions yet but I've heard a few things about them. For the record, I don't give a shit that Dean said "rape shower".


Sam is such a little bitch this entire episode. I notice how he keeps saying things like, "if YOU want to get my soul back" etc. What happened to "we"? :(


Is this seriously what Dean drinks out of? I feel like he's going to get heavy metal poisoning or something wtf.


It occurs to me that I should be very jealous of this actress.


Dean expects to be kissed because he gets this look a lot from a certain supernatural someone and he knows where it leads. XD



This scene is why I'm mad at Sam. It does not sit well with me. AT ALL. Not even because Sam threatened to hunt Castiel and kill him -- although that was annoying in and of itself -- but because he honestly thinks Castiel owes him something. Newsflash, fucker, Castiel doesn't owe you jack shit. You "took one for the team" and went to Hell to save the world? Do you think that means the entire world owes you one? 'Cause from where I'm sitting, it seems like you owed it to the world to save it after being the one to let Lucifer out. Which, by the way, Castiel lost everything to give you a chance not to do. So STFU and STFD. Ugh. I HATE ENTITLEMENT. Also his tone and condescension and sheer rudeness. I get that he's soulless and doesn't care about anybody but last I checked he hadn't lost his ability to have an ounce of goddamn respect for people. GODDAMN.


The only good thing to come out of this scene was Castiel calling Sam boy, hahahhaha GO CAS. Gigantor Winchester or not, Castiel could still smite the shit out of him. But whatever, go Cas for being the bigger man (angel) and acquiescing even despite all of Sam's bullshit. I'm just glad he made it clear it wasn't because Sam's threat scared him.


This is what friends do for each other? Fuck you, Sam. WHY CAN'T HE GET HIS SOUL BACK ALREADY, I love Sam and I hate that he's like this. He used to actually be Castiel's friend. :(

If I ignore the fact that that demons were terrified as shit of angels in the beginning of season four, I can understand why Meg would want to make out with Cas right before she faces off with hellhounds. That's actually something that REALLY bothers me. How can Sam have a conscious body AND a conscious soul? That... doesn't even make sense, at least not to me. And the whole soulless!Sam storyline is getting old. I'm sick of him. I never thought I'd say this, but I'm just sick of his rudeness, of his attitude, of... everything. I want the brotherly love back, and soon. Hell, freaking YESTERDAY if I had it my way.

I'm actually thinking about coming to Lisbon, but I'd have to find a job first, because I just spent the last money I had left on JIBCon Meet & Greets with Misha and Richard, lol. But if I find a job in time? Hell, count me in :D

I don't mind the kiss, fandom seems to be out-wanking itself on that one. Yeah, the abomination thing should repulse him, agreed, but Cas seemed sort of, "whatever" this episode, so out of sorts. Like, I feel that was why he was watching porn to begin with, he seemed like a petulant, "I don't want to be here, but I will, because I'm a good friend, but I'm not going to like it" kid. And that the whole kiss was because he learned it from porn, just made it work (for me). Like, see something, then apply it. I feel watching porn was such a Dean thing and kissing back a random chick (demon or no) also such a Dean thing. Cas just emulates him too much in moments of uncertainty. I love it even more that he didn't seem to care afterwards and also didn't understand why he'd want alone time with Meg. LOLOLOLOLOLOL! I honestly think it has nothing to do with Meg and everything to do with Cas mimicking Dean, or mimicking humans (which, I think Dean is his example of, so... same thing ^_~).

Hmm. I guess to clarify: Abomination thing aside, I understand the kissing scene from Castiel's POV. I don't understand it from the show's POV. I don't understand why they decided to have that scene here, why they decided it would be a good idea to take Castiel in that direction, what the whole point of this whole bit of his character arc is.

It's difficult to get pissed off at Sam because he's not really Sam. I'm with you: I MISS SAM. Actual Sam with a soul wouldn't treat Castiel that way. :(

The Dean/Cas in this ep fills me with joy and turned my eyes into hearts. CAS WOULD RATHER BE THERE THAN IN HEAVEN. And I note that all of Castiel's moments of sexual awakening seem to be in front of Dean, or arranged by Dean, or prompted by something Dean does or something he learned from Dean.

I'm not pissed off at Sam as I think of Sam, I'm pissed off at this new asshole version of Sam who talks to Castiel like that. In my head Sam and Asshole are pretty much two different characters now, and I'd be pissed off at anybody who talked to Castiel like that regardless of who it is, so yes, it's not difficult for me to get pissed at him. :P

Thanks for posting this - as always, but especially with the Meg/Cas kiss - I was all, wait - what? Why? It didn't really make sense, although I really love the actress playing Meg these last seasons. A lot of reactions have been squicked about Cas's boner - and yeah, not really sure what the writers are trying to say there. I mean, are angels sexual? Is it that the heavenly conventions have been broken up and so now it's kind of chaos, even in terms of how the meat suits are regulated? And, speaking of which, now that Cas has pretty much the run of the place, is Jimmy still in there? What's up with Jimmy when Cas is the Chrysler Building of Heavenly Intent? I'd think Cas would be one for observing the forms rather than Balthazar-like celebrating the release. Hopefully it's not just fanservice and the writers will use it as an occasion to bring more of Cas's situation in; I'm not against the Meg/Cas thing per se, but yeah, if demons are hideous to angels ala Anna on seeing Ruby... well. Actually, the heaven civil war is more interesting to me right now than the Sammy soul plot and the Samuel connection. I'm with you - I miss Sam! And I never thought I'd say this, but damn I wish John would reappear and kick his dad-in-law's ass.

But yeah, the Dean BFF comment (okay, maybe I exaggerate) - but reassuring Cas to their warm fuzzies - yay! At least Dean's soul is up and functioning, and it reaches out to his suffering angelic BFF. Thank you canon!

I think Misha said that Jimmy is still in there, but who knows if Misha's word can be trusted. :P The heaven civil war is much more interesting to me than the current plotlines as well, and I can only hope we get into it more in the second half of the season. ALSO SAM. SAM AND CAS, PLS.

When he first kissed Meg I kind of boggled, like Dean did. And I'd been expecting it, too! Like, it's Castiel, what is he doing kissing someone?

I was all ready to be mad at Sam for being a jerk to Cas but then Cas stepped forward and put Sam in his place. That moment of Cas calling him boy and not being impressed at all with the threat saved that scene. Misha is awesome with the understated looming threat in that scene and in the end when he confronts and kills Crowley. Plus Misha looks fabulous when lit with light from a fire.

I will always adore the affection between Cas and Dean.

As for the porn and the kiss? I think it, and the line about Cas wanting to be on Earth, point to a larger story about Cas being more human than he appears. He's more human than even Balthazar. Even if he doesn't party hard like Balthazar, Castiel has strong emotions, including love; none of the other angels have shown this. I suspect Cas's distraction with the humans and his humanity may prove problematic later.

Yeah, Castiel's little "will you, boy?" is the only thing that kept me from throwing something during that scene. He was so growly and quietly menacing even with Sam looming over him, mmmm.

I would like that, a sort of revisitation of Castiel's humanity arc. Especially if it ties into his Heaven civil war! That would be delicious.

Hmmm, so I watched this episode and kinda thought there was something going on we didn't know about yet between Sam and Cas. I mean, "You owe me," that's something pretty strong to say to Cas just because of the going to hell thing (which sort of didn't affect Cas that much) and at the end there, Sam pretty much orders Cas to go kill a whole bunch of (mostly innocent) things and Cas just sort of goes *obey* I dunno maybe it was just me, reading too far into things xD but it seemed to me like there was a missing piece there.

If I ignore the fact that that demons were terrified as shit of angels in the beginning of season four, I can understand why Meg would want to make out with Cas right before she faces off with hellhounds. I do not understand why Castiel would let her, horny/curious from watching porn and wanting to try it out or no. Abomination, remember? He should be very very VERY instinctually repulsed by her. But whatever, all that aside, WHY IS THIS EVEN HAPPENING? From the spoilers I'd kind of thought something would make this necessary, or at least, there would be SOME SORT OF REASON, but it wasn't, and there was no reason at all. It was just some random OH HAI I GUESS NOW'S AS GOOD A TIME AS ANY TO SEXUALIZE THE ANGEL SINCE CLEARLY HIS CHARACTER ARC ISN'T COMPLETE UNTIL HE GETS SOME ACTION FROM THE FEMALE SPECIES. Are they trying to go somewhere with this? Is this the beginning of some epic Castiel/Meg story arc? JFC DNW. And I'm disappointed because Castiel's first kiss is so anticlimactic. But at least Dean is there, looking appropriately stunned horrified.

AMEN! Ugh, I was antsy enough about the spoilers, but this... I was honest-to-God MAD. Because it was SO UNNECESSARY! blech. I've actually read a bunch of fics (WAY prior to this ep) where Cas/Meg made TOTAL sense and was good, but this? I'll just pretend that scene didn't happen.

They haven't been doing much of anything with Cas so far, but I hope we'll get to see more of him and something of an actual character arc in the second half of the season.

I was also surprised that Castiel kissed Meg back, but oh well, I guess he was just curious about it because it was so new and nice and all.

They've been making gay jokes about Dean since the beginning of the show, haven't they? XD

Man, I wish Dean had found out about the threat and torn Sam a new one for it, but ah well.

I'm not so sure he honestly does. He was obviously being manipulative in that scene to get Cas to help them, so I think he just threw in the 'you owe me' part cos he thought it would get to Cas and make him stay. I don't think he actually feels entitled or anything, cos his lack of soul means he doesn't care about that one way or the other. He's just not above using the idea against people for whom stuff like that DOES matter.

Also? I liked the Cas/Meg MORE THAN I SHOULD OMG! o_O But only because it will make Cas realise how he loves Dean really, yus. Meg was an experiment. Cas is pretty sure he's gay now :p

Oh Tracy, now I feel like my viewing experience is complete because PICSPAM.

I loved the episode. Yes, there were things that could have been better and so many things I would change. But at the end of the day we got some great Dean/Cas scenes and Misha's hands in Rachel's hair was just all kinds of sexy though he was totally pretending it was Dean in my head and Dean finally, finally says something nice to Cas so I'm good.

I have to say I kind of like RoboSam. Yes, he's not Sammy but I'm enjoying his evil arc. I think the acting range is one JP has settled into and he's doing so much better at selling it this year. Makes it easier for me as an acting teacher to watch since he doesn't pull me out of the scene anymore with "overdoing" it. So I'm kind of loving Sam as RoboSam.

Jensen's facial expression choices during the kissing scene were killing me. LOLOLOLOL.

So yes, the plot is being easily guessed by everyone and I truly wish the CW and Sera would take some chances that would ramp the show up and get people talking (having Dean stay a vampire, boy on angel kissing and not just the extras in a scene, actually showing more of the angelic war, etc) but I'm going to be happy with what they're giving me.

At end of day there is a pretty, pretty angel who is BAMF and has friends (hearts) and is learning about porn so he can pounce on Dean so I'm good. :D

Yes, guh, Dean thanking Cas and telling him they're his friends is hands down my favorite part of the episode. Shit, it may even be my favorite part of this season.

Jared is doing an amazing job with RoboSam (or, as I like to call him, Asshole), but that only MAKES ME ANGRIER. Especially when he's talking to Cas.

And Dean pointing to the hellhounds but then deciding not to interrupt with something so inconsequential, hahaha beautiful.

Dean staying a vampire would've been so much cooler than Asshole Sam. Then again, I guess they can only have him go hungry and not kill anyone for so long. More angel civil war in the second half of the season, pls.

I'm not a fan of overtly sexualized Castiel (or at least, not in the show) either, it makes me uncomfortable on a weird level for pretty much exactly the reasons you cited. This happened last season when he ripped open his shirt too. So I know what you mean about it feeling wrong! But I guess I'm just quick to get over it, most of the time.

Dean, on the other hand, I have no qualms about seeing sexualized. I loved his hairy palm thing, heh.
