Things I am impressed by:

• Oh god Caprica. I may or may not have actually teared up a tiny bit at "The Shape of Things to Come". I definitely got chills. On the one hand, seeing everything happen in fast forward like this brings with it a sense of epicness as they hurtle toward inevitability, but on the other hand, I wish they'd been given time to actually show us how it all unfolds. Sci-fi, I really really really hate you right now.
  
  BILL ADAMA. Holy crap, it may be because I'd forgotten the backstory about his mother, but I spent the entirety of Caprica thinking that Willie was Bill Adama. Cue massive confusion and denial when he died. I was convinced they'd "resurrect" him with Daniel's program and put him in a skinjob body like they did with Zoe and that he'd actually be a cylon too, which would be kind of a hilarious secret that would remain a secret forever in later BSG years, but it was not to be, alas. Still, the little kid was cute, and they said "So say we all" at his ceremony kfdlsjfklsd MORE CHILLS.
  
  But speaking of skinjobs, the creation of skinjobs almost in parallel with the toaster brand of cylons (and by the same people) was implied before, in both BSG and Caprica, but watching Zoe get out of that goo bath-- shit, man. CHILLS FOREVER.
  
  Lacy: GO LACY! \O/ "I really think you should kneel" lololol Lacy why so awesome? I guess she has the cylons to thank for her promotion.
  
  Clarice and Zoe started the cylon rebellion. Wow. I had kind of expected that, given Clarice's penchant for leading violent religious movements and Zoe's general outrage at the way people treat her and screaming "I AM GOD", and yet. Wow. fjdksfkjls EPIC, show, EPIC. Clarice's prophecy about the children of humanity rising and crushing the ones who first gave them life, and that's the very last line of this show, I AM ACTUALLY SHAKING.
  
  Now that I've spent all this time talking about the last five minutes of the show and none of the rest of it, I'll just say that I love Daniel Graystone and all the fucked up things he did and his fucked up singlemindedness and his fucked up love-determination-whatever and his badassery and mostly, that he's the one who created cylons and said "they're simply tools, nothing more" and set everything in motion. SO FUCKED UP AND AWESOME, jesus.
  
  I just have one question: What happened to Tamara?


• This Harry/Draco art over at hd_holidays. There's a lot of epic fic, but epic art is more rare. This? Is epic art.


• Due Date! Saw it today and fuck, but RDJ is fun to look at. And all that roadtripping through the U.S. made me miss home, ngl.


• The existence of Portuguese subtitles for like, everything. Now I don't have to feel bad about marathoning Leverage 'cause I could be studying Portuguese instead. XD


• Rahm Emanuel's Mayoral Announcement. ♥ This man makes me wish I was from Chicago.


• The fact that my giant spider is still alive, and that it now has an even more giant (but several weeks dead) moth hanging in midair by a thread attached to the spider's leg. I would feed it something else but it's taken up permanent residence right under the lid of the jar no matter which way I turn it.

Things I am not impressed by:

• RAIN. Some rain is pretty and refreshing. Being out until past 5 am with no umbrella while it rains all night is neither pretty nor refreshing. Especially when other people in other places are getting snow. I have snow envy.


• Warnings for "boykissing", especially in slash communities. There are many things that are cute in the world. This is not one of them.


• My flatmate's brilliant decision to put several bottles of beer in the freezer. Guess who's got a freezer full of exploded beer now? He was actually very surprised about this and had no idea it would happen. Despair, I has it.

Look, I got through a whole post without mentioning Dean or Castiel. Oh wai---

Okay, I read your first point about Caprica and then had to stop. I... am bookmarking this for when I have access to these episodes, because of stupid Syfy not airing them until January. But holy crap, now I know I was right about at least one thing! Though, I didn't really have any doubts about it (Willy not being Bill), unless the creators couldn't do math, because the ages didn't work at all.

The last episode I saw was so much better than the five or six episodes before it. I am so disappointed with this show overall, and yet even more disappointed it was canceled before it could find itself. Bah.

Yeah, I guess if I'd taken the time to do the math I would've figured it out too, but I was too lazy and quick to assume. I did enjoy the surprise, though!

I enjoyed the beginning of this show, the middle was pretty meh and I found I didn't really care about the characters (especially Zoe and Amanda), and then all of a sudden -- right about when they announced it would be canceled, ironically -- it got epic. Like, BSG-flavored epic. Now I'm heartbroken that it's over. :(

Willie died. Bill is the new son, named after Willie. This show got a lot better after they announced that it would be canceled, I do recommend watching it! A lot of loose ends get tied up, and you can really see how it leads to the events of BSG by the time it ends.

I haven't watched the not-aired-in-US episodes of "Caprica" yet, but I can't tell you how darkly amused I am that they actually killed not!baby Adama and fixed the age/eye color continuity. I did NOT see that coming. Some people speculated it would happen but I thought they were crazy.

And I'm sad to hear there's no Tamara closure, but giddily awaiting everything with Lacy and Zoe! Eee!

LOL is that the reason they did it? I hadn't been nitpicking at their continuity issues so I had no idea. If that's really the reason, it's kind of hilarious.

TBH I wasn't fond of all their teenage angst in the beginning, but both Lacy and Zoe were fucking amazing in these last few eps. Really came into their own. I'm just sad we didn't get to see their reunion, but oh well.

*sob* I can't find my BSG miniseries, and I hate watching stuff without the first part! I kind of want to see Caprica, but with all the cancellation stuff, I feel like I'd end up emotionally attached to it and that wouldn't end well for me. :P

I'm not too destroyed that it was canceled because they gave us a better ending than I expected, and it was fun seeing some backstory, even if it wasn't entirely consistent with BSG.

This spider is luckily not too fast! The fast ones creep me out a lot.

I love cold weather, so that wouldn't bother me at all. Plus, snow is so PRETTY and fun to play in!

OMG YES. Ever since I acutally started noticing this, it's annoyed me to no end. If I'm reading something labeled "Dean/Cas," I think I can figure out there will be kissing. And even if I couldn't, it's not something that needs a warning.

Agreed. I mean, warning such used for sensitive topics and it still depends where you are crossposting your fic. On a Wincest Community it would be a little stupid to warn people off INCEST. But boykissing? Why should I be warned for that?

You know, that 'warning' has always rubbed me the wrong way because I don't consider boykissing something wrong that needs to be warned for, but an enticement. I get the the author(s) are trying to be cute, but the connotation that boykissing is somehow wrong is still there. That's the same reason I will never warn for slash either, if people can't figure it out by looking at the rating and pairing, not my problem.

AT LAST I CAN READ YOUR POST! I FINALLY MANAGED TO SIT DOWN AND WATCH THE FINAL FIVE EPISODES OF CAPRICA AND I JUST FUCKING CRIED AT ~EVERYTHING~. EVERYTHING.

I had no idea they'd tie things up at the end, I thought it would end on a cliffhanger because they were hoping they'd be renewed, but they did SUCH A GOOD JOB OF ENDING IT PROPERLY, OMFG!
