Cool spider! I lived in a basement once and a spider laid its eggs on the side of my couch, which was pushed against a wall. Luckily I was there when they hatched, and noticed when FIFTY BILLION TINY SPIDERS started spilling out. ...which shows how terrible a housewife I am. It was in a nook!! I love spiders, but that was a bit much. (I scooped up the sac with its thousands of spiders and put it out in the far reaches of the back yard.)

I thought this ep could be titled, "Whose Dick Is Biggest?" I mean, seriously, all those guys were having a big dick-off. But yeah, Sam's readiness to shoot Samuel shows the pure logic without the instinct/humanity the soul injects.

...of course, Cas the Chrysler Building won by about a million.

I traveled to Peru this year and my roommate in one of the hotels was this gigantic spider complete with thick hairy body and long spindly legs. It was the size of a small rodent. It was too high to reach and thus remove from the room, and so it remained. It was difficult to sleep knowing it was there. More difficult when it disappeared from view. *shudders*

As for SPN, I'm loving the season and I adore Cas. Cas needs a hug, poor thing, and Dean needs to be less bossy and insensitive. This appears to be the season where Dean learns there's more to the universe than Sam and Dean (which will help Dean to find happiness, I hope) and Cas may be one of the ones to help him see it. Meanwhile, poor sad angel is getting annoyed, but above all, is very pretty .

1. Thank you for forewarning us about clicking the spider cut. I may have been unable to sleep for weeks if I had. Or, I'd have bug bombed the shit out of my apartment, bought netting, and slathered myself in Off...

2. I LOVED when Dean was bossy to Sam and told him that when Cas asks a question, Sam answers, as it inverted that other episode where Dean told Cas to come when Sam prays for him. I felt that was a nice representation of not only mutual respect/love for his brother and for Cas (that he's equally bossy on the other's behalf), but as always, showed the shift in dynamics. Sammy is supposedly fine but confused, and Dean is mad at Cas for being away, so he bitches at Cas. Sam is now f-ed in the soul and Cas turns out to be the more reliable, trustable one, so Dean is pissy with Sam.

3. HE TOOK OFF HIS BELT. KINKY!

4. He crossed the fucking room to be all up in Dean's business. I mean, that room was rather largeish. Dean can obviously hear Sam fine from that distance, but no, Cas marches his feathered ass over to Dean to ~tell him stuff all up in his personal space. <3<3<3

5. The philosophical question made me think of Misha, lol.

6. SARCASM FOR THE WIN! SO MUCH APPRECIATION FOR THAT MOMENT. But, I love that Dean is all entitled and Cas calls him on it, but CAS STILL COMES WHEN DEAN CALLS DESPITE THIS. He can't resist their profound bond, after all!

7. Totally off topic, but I keep wondering if like Deanna's soul is in Purgatory or maybe Mary or something? I mean, Samuel was looking at something (I assumed a picture) when the boys walked in. I HATE spiders!!!! I lived overseas and woke up to one, super mumbo, jumbo, large hairy spider sitting on my chest! I have been tramatized since and did I say, I HATE SPIDERS!!!! Yes, spiders overseas in the hot places grow so large, it makes the rest seem peanuts but...I don't care, I have others kill the ones I find! If I have to kill them, lots of toilet paper and pick it up quick and down the toilet it goes! Boiling it in the sink works, too! Okay, I grossed myself out..back to our pretty boys!! Am I the only one who is worried about the continuity in this season? Don't get me wrong, thoroughly enjoyed this episode, but I thought that people without souls ended up like Raphael's vessel? And maybe that Angels could see souls without having to rape them? (that may have been fanfiction...) Or, as you mentioned, that Angels could F*ing SEE DEMONS.

I also want to know what's going on in heaven besides the quick "we're at war people" Hoping they have an episode where everything goes to shit and Cas is forced to hang with his earthly family.

Castiel was awesome this episode. The bondage, the long Dean/Cas looks, the bragging about his true form!

Though I do wonder how he managed to miss the fact that Christian was a demon, or for that matter, that the room next to them was full of demons. I mean, I thought that was the sort of thing that pinged on angel radar without them even trying or having to "look." Also, hunters, you should have used CHAINS on the alpha vamp.
