YOU GUYS. WHY AREN'T MORE PEOPLE READING THIS FIC? This fic owns my soul and is my favoritest thing in Dean/Castiel fandom right now.

I can't even place a finger on why. I mean, it's not because it's a historical Roman AU because I'm all about science and brainz and couldn't care less about history (sorry!), and I've never even liked AUs at all, to be honest (except I've been on a kick recently). The writing is lovely but it's not that, either.

Maybe it's my slave!kink. *g* But no, seriously, Dean and Sam (those aren't even their names, but the characters are spot on and unmistakable, trust me) are gladiators and Castiel is the son of a rich and powerful senator and he's all huffy and philosophical and pretty and blushy and Dean is so ♥♥♥ over him and would do anything to see him smile and-- I'm not going to give anything away, but it only gets infinitely better after that. It's a very emotionally captivating/engaging fic, basically, and it's absolutely enchanting, and I just want everyone in the world to read it (unless noncon themes trigger you, I guess, or you hate WIPs, but actually so do I and look at me) so you can UNDERSTAND MY SQUEE.

Aside from that, I just have to ask, am I the only one who wishes people wouldn't label alternate reality fics AU? This is not something I've ever noticed or cared about before since I've never been a fan of AUs, but recently I've been looking for more and I get all excited when I see "AU" but then Dean is still a hunter and Castiel is still the angel who saved him and I am all ":( :( But I wanted them to be teenage boys or vampires or GLADIATORS AND HUFFY NERDS or RENT BOYS or just regular guys! :(" But then I get over it, don't worry.

Uhm, seriously, olympia_m's fic is amazing. And Vancouver con is in a week and a half. WHAT. Omg, Misha. *twirls*

I have been keeping track of this fic but I've been so busy, I haven't had time to leave proper feedback. It is the only AU I am currently reading for SPN right now, and I adore the set-up and Lucius's torment over Cassianus.:)

Zefron and RPattz are both currently filming stuff in Vancouver...I actually ALMOST stumbled into the Zefron Film Set on Friday when I was in Steveston for work and was going to go searching for it but then i fell into a door and made Katrina meet me for lunch instead. and then found out later what was filming there. *FACEPALM*

I know olympia_m has been talking for ages about her historical AU fic, and for some reason it all just went completely over my head until she actually started posting it and then - GUH. I'm so starry-eyed with glee over every little thing about it, the Roman setting, the slave!kink, the way she's managed to completely recreate the characters but still keep their key characteristics, ALL OF IT.
